Gabriele Bonci is one of the most recognisable figures in Italian food culture. His work doesn’t stop at pizza — it’s a continuous investigation into matter, fermentation, and the relationship between territory and transformation.
This project set out to build a coherent visual system capable of telling the whole chain: the grain producers, the fields, the working of the dough, the finished product. Not service images, but a photographic account that gives depth and identity to high-level craft work.
The portrait of Bonci follows the same logic: not a promotional photograph, but an image that says something about his character — the concentration, the physicality, the visceral relationship with ingredients.
