"Se Carne, Questa Carne" is a project born from a collaboration with Most of Italy and chefs Tommaso Tonioni (from the ARSO project) and Edoardo Tilli (from Podere Belvedere Tuscany in Chianti Rufina). Most of Italy, which organized the event and brought together the various contributors, invited me to provide an artistic contribution to the dinner. I envisioned this as a performative moment.
For the occasion, I created four photographic works that allegorically represented the four stages of the animal’s life and consumption: Birth, Growth, Sacrifice, and Celebration. These printed artworks were served at the table during the dinner, which had no menu, acting as chapters introducing dishes that corresponded to each stage of the animal's life.
The four phases visually embodied and translated the philosophy of all the event’s contributors and their approach to the raw materials, creating a profound connection between art, food, and storytelling.
