Unit stills photographer for Una Storia Nera, the 2024 thriller directed by Leonardo D’Agostini, produced by Groenlandia and RAI Cinema and released in cinemas by 01 Distribution on 16 May 2024. The film is adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name by Antonella Lattanzi (Mondadori, 2017) and is the second feature by the Roman director, who won the Nastro d’Argento for best new director with Il Campione (2019).
Filming took place entirely in Rome and Lazio — in the town of Gallicano nel Lazio and at the Rebibbia women’s prison for the scenes set inside. The principal cast includes Laetitia Casta as Carla, Andrea Carpenzano, Cristiana Dell’Anna (known for Gomorrah — The Series), Lea Gavino (Skam Italia), Mario Sgueglia, Giordano De Plano and Licia Maglietta.
The film deals with domestic violence and self-defence through a noir courtroom structure, alternating the family story with the trial. It was received largely favourably by Italian critics, with Laetitia Casta as the lead face of the international press campaign.
